2005 Concreteman Triathlon Race Report

Saturday, July 30 2005
Fellows Lake, Fair Grove, Missouri USA
79 degrees

It was a beautiful day for our 22nd annual Concreteman Triathlon. There was no fog delay or electrical problems and everything went very smoothly.
Landon Hough led from the start and was bested by only one team in the overall standings. With a prize purse of $200 for the overall male and female and $150 for the overall masters male and female, all of the money, except the masters male, stayed in Springfield.
We had competitors from Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Iowa, and Missouri. It was an exhausting and wonderful day.

The Sunrise Optimists, who manned the aid stations, directed parking and traffic, and made the wonderful pancake breakfast did an outstanding job. They will receive money from proceeds of the event, as they have for the past several years. Other volunteers, such as R.C. Catt, Jamie Wynn, Geoff Goss, Linda Barnett, Linda Brewer, Gerry Mooney, Nancy Williams and Miriam Flouer make this event a success.

The 5K was reinstated this year and went off at 7 a.m. Dan Mostrom held off Lullel Hickman and David Hunsucker to win Saucony shoes. Lullel won the masters and David won his age group. Julie Cogell and Maryann Campbell won the overall women's and masters and will receive Saucony shoes from Ridge Runner Sports. Results are posted, and there a photographs below, which were submitted by Mike Baxter.
